SIX NEW E4 AND F4 SHADOW HAWKS ARE HEADING TO TIEC THIS SATURDAY, DECEMBER 7.
SEE END OF CHIMNEY ROCKS FLUTE PAGE! SHADOW HAWK Flutes are affordable versions of
Ugly Boys, as I craft all sound mechanisms identically. You might consider these “Ugly Boys in a plain
brown wrapper.” All are made of either Poplar or Spruce, unless otherwise noted. They have been
sanded to 400 grit, and have one coat of food-safe oil rubbed in. To keep prices low, they DO NOT
come with a polar fleece bag, instructions, etc….but when you unwrap it you can run to the studio and
record away.
HALF-PIPES are literally just that: half of a round bore flute with a flat bottom. Haven’t made them in
YEARS, but just found a box with three high key flutes that I’ve gotten in great playing order. The two
G5s were converted back to 5-hole flutes because the 6 were too close together for me to even make
a sample….probably why I boxed them away and forgot about them! The G5s happen to be in some
beautiful scrap woods.
KNITTING NEEDLE FLUTES are new and still somewhat at the prototype/experimental stage, but I’m
posting the first three offerings. The sound mechanism is wood, just like the flutes (only a LOT
smaller) and the rest is either Bates #19 plastic knitting needles (blue) or Bates #17 plastic knitting
needles (pink). The playing barrels are removable to create a VERY compact flute for travel.
Wood prices, shipping costs, and payment fees have gone WAY up, so I’ve had to adjust prices and
also add the more affordable Spruce to the line-up. I am now offering much lower keys. Two Shadow
Hawks can be mailed together and one shipping fee will be removed. Inquire with any questions or
to see what’s coming soon…don’t be shy!
